We have an immediate job opening for a fuel transportation Dispatcher to join our small, “family first” company, who is committed to getting the job done safely and efficiently. 

Humboldt Pacific LLC is a fuel transport company that safely transports bulk fuel (Jet A, JP8, AVGAS & Kerosene) and other petroleum commodities throughout California, Nevada, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Our focus is in the transportation of bulk aviation fuels, however we also specialize transport a variety of other petroleum-based products such as Jet Fuel, Renewable Fuels, Marine Gas Oil, Ethanol, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), Biodiesel, Red Dye Off-road Diesel, AV Gas, Clear Diesel Fuel, Bunker Fuel, Gasoline, Heating Oils and Bulk Oils to commercial and private airports, aviation emergency response, agriculture and logging aviation, cardlocks, C-stores and military bases.

Job Description:

SUMMARY

Perform direct dispatching and supervise Drivers in accordance with company policies and procedures in the coordination of scheduling of drivers, trucks, and freight between various locations throughout the U.S. Primary function of the job is to provide day-to-day dispatch services, supervision and administrative representation for Terminal drivers and dispatchers.

Dispatch is a 24-hour operation, and, therefore, this position may require irregular hours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispatch drivers via information in the computer system and phone communication with terminals in order to achieve the movement of freight in the most cost-effective and timely manner within the service standards of the Company
  • Liaise between Customers, Drivers, Senior Dispatcher, Human Resources, Maintenance and Compliance
  • Maintain compliant log records
  • Maintain proper equipment documentation and maintenance records.
  • Supervise Drivers
  • Plan dispatches to accommodate Company and customer cost and service goals.
  • Problem resolution
  • Customer, Driver, facility problem resolution
  • Accurate and timely Prophesy, Netradyne and Samsara software data entry, and Driver adherence

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with Maintenance Department to ensure optimum operational efficiency and safety of all Company equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Minimum 3 years dispatch experience in the fuel transportation industry.
  • Minimum 1-year supervisory experience within the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and state and federal safety regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Customer Service experience with internal and external customers.
  • Good decision-making ability.
  • Excellent geographic knowledge of the U.S.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, some college desired.
  • Windows computer, MS Word, and MS Excel proficiency.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Quick and responsible decision-making skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
     

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must be able to sit, stand, walk up and down stairs unassisted. Must be able to remain in a sitting and/or stationary position an average of 60-75% of working hours. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
