Apprenticeship Programme:

As one of our Bentley apprentices, you will combine practical experience with classroom learning to achieve a Level 6 Electrical or Electronic Technical Support Engineer Degree. You will play a significant part in our business as we continue on this exciting journey to deliver extraordinary vehicles for our customers. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

There are Three Apprenticeships available within Engineering:

1. Engineering Interior:

The Engineering Interior Apprenticeship is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team focussing on the specification, design, integration and testing of our fantastic interiors, both on our current models and exciting future projects. Whilst working alongside and being mentored by our expert interior engineers you will have the opportunity to contribute and make a real impact to new Bentley products.

Your main responsibilities include;

 

  • Collaborate with the team to project manage the development and delivery of the interior hardware and electrical functionality
  • Work across may different departments within Bentley to ensure that our systems fully integrate into the entire vehicle environment
  • hand’s on engineering development including building prototype parts at early the phases of a project to supporting engineers to bring their exciting new innovations to life

 

2. Electrical Test and Simulation:

The Electrical Test and Simulation Apprenticeship is a unique opportunity to be immersed into the most cutting edge technology and vehicle testing virtualisation. Whilst working alongside and being mentored by experienced engineers you will develop your electrical and electronics knowledge, bring your own ideas to life through virtual testing and simulation, and shape the development of Bentley’s electrifying future.

Your main responsibilities include;

 

  • Develop hands-on skills in automotive electrical components and wiring
  • Collaborate with engineers to update vehicle software and coding throughout the vehicle development process to ensure the correct versions are tested at the right time
  • Supporting problem solving activities by measuring and sharing appropriate vehicle data with the relevant team members   

3. Electrical Engineering – Test and Build support:

The Electrical Test and Build support Apprentice will gain invaluable experience in delivering electrical system testing, support with the identification and resolution of issues and play a key role in driving our Beyond100+ strategy. Working alongside and being mentored by experienced engineers you will learn a range of electrical skills from electrical fault finding to testing every aspect of a Bentley in different environments.                         

Your main responsibilities include;

 

  • Creating and leading the whole vehicle integration test plans for simulator, prototype and pre-series as well as supporting series production vehicles
  • Learn a range of electrical skills including vehicle diagnostic tool applications
  • Deliver integration testing for set integration levels, including creating test plans, delivering testing and reporting all findings to the wider business

 

About the Department:

The Apprentice positions sit within the wider Engineering department. We are responsible for the entire research and development process of all Bentley products, from idea creation all the way through to engineering sign off. Our mission is to inspire our customers by creating extraordinary products through passion, collaboration and sustainable innovation.

 

What we’re looking for

Training Provider Entry Requirements: There are two training providers available please see entry requirements below

University of Warwick Requirements: 3 A-Levels at Grade BBC (112 UCAS points minimum) Including 2 B’s in Maths & a Stem subject. GCSE Maths, English & a stem subject Grade 4 (C) or above. Or BTEC Nationals DDD Including 2 Maths Modules. T Levels not accepted.

Sheffield Hallam Requirements: 3 A-levels at grade BBC (112 UCAS points minimum) including Maths & a stem subject. Or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals and T Levels.
