Landscape Foreman

Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of experience in the landscape/construction industry desired
• Basic plant and pruning knowledge
• Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Time management skills 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, overhead designs and specifications
• Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
• Must have a valid driver license
• CDL and / or Chauffeur’s license desired 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the execution of landscape projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and materials deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job (s) with projected deadlines
• Work directly and in communication with the Project Manager
• Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
• Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
• Supervise, coordinate the day-to-day work activities of a landscape construction crew
• Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
• Participate in recruitment activities by conducting secondary interview with potential job candidates
• Conduct on site orientations with new employees and employees in new positions
• Operate various tools and equipment, including: light equipment, chainsaws, hand tools, pruning tools, wheelbarrow
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspection, lubrication and cleaning daily
• Read and interpret designs and drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
• Meeting with subcontractors and supervising quality, efficiency and deadlines

Work Conditions:

 Fast paced environment, outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold. Some weekend work may be required.
