Leakage Technician – Yeovil, Trowbridge & Swindon

Purpose and scope of the role:
As a Leakage Technician within our Water Operations team, you will support Wessex Water by identifying, diagnosing and resolving leakage across DMA networks. Working outdoors in all conditions, you will use a range of detection methods, attend excavations, maintain accurate records and deliver reliable field data that supports regulatory performance and client service. You will work closely with Team Leaders, colleagues, contractors and the client, contributing to safe, efficient delivery across operational workstreams.
Your impact in this position:
In the short term, you will build confidence in field procedures, safety standards and network-specific working practices. In the medium term, you will help reduce leakage, improve detection accuracy and contribute to KPI delivery. Over time, you will develop broader technical capability, support the mentoring of others and progress within a team that delivers meaningful, visible outcomes on significant projects.

Skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential: full UK driving licence, National Water Hygiene, Unit 2 NRSWA, good basic maths and English, basic IT skills, good hearing, and the ability to work nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
Desirable: previous leakage detection or water network experience, and experience supporting or mentoring others.
Work patterns and locations:
This role is based in Yeovil, Trowbridge or Swindon, with travel to operational sites as required. It is primarily field-based with outdoor work expected. Flexible working may be available where it supports client delivery, although regular on-site attendance is essential.
