The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Gas Supply & Transportation Supervisor, the Marketing Operations Coordinator is accountable for the daily gas supply and demand balance for Canadian Natural’s production, and to take the necessary corrective actions to maintain Canadian Natural’s account within the allowable tolerance established by the pipeline companies. This position is also accountable for the optimization of Canadian Natural’s domestic gas transportation on various pipelines from the receipt point to the markets and to maximize profitability in a manner consistent with Canadian Natural’s policies and values.

Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare and maintain the daily supply and demand balance and the forecasts required to plan around the supply, markets and pipelines disruptions
- Make all the nominations required on the various pipelines for sales and transport contracts, and to maintain accounts within the allowable tolerance established by the pipeline companies
- Maintain effective liaison with Marketing, Operations, Production Field Staff and Marketing Accounting, Production Accounting
- Provide backup to the other Gas Operations Coordinators on their respective pipelines. – NGTL, Alliance, Westcoast, Atco, TransGas (Sask), TCPL Mainline, and various other export pipelines
- Work collaboratively with other schedulers to provide on-call support as required during off hours for all pipelines; involving effective contingency plans for unexpected operational upsets and market conditions
- Input and verify volumes (Canadian Natural and third party) in the deal capture system for budgeting purposes and the Marketing Accounting group
What You Bring to the Role:
- A Degree in Business or Engineering with a minimum of five years of gas control and transportation experience
- Proficiency in spreadsheet applications is required; proficiency in word processing is beneficial
- The ability to perform economic evaluations of pipeline proposals is required
- Strong communication, organizational and team skills complemented with strong work ethics are required
